BougeUp Summer Camp is run by a team with Mcgill Physical and Health Expertises who share a passion for helping children move with confidence, curiosity, and joy. Our academic training has equipped us with a strong foundation in motor development, sport‑specific skill instruction, physical literacy, and healthy lifestyle education.
Alongside this, our hands‑on experience teaching adapted physical activity and working with children of different ages, skill levels, and abilities allows us to design environments that are safe, inclusive, and responsive to every child’s unique way of learning and playing.
I’m Yongheng Wu, the founder of BougeUp Summer Camp. I hold a diploma in Early Childhood Education from Vanier College and am currently studying Physical and Health Education at McGill University. What I enjoy most about working with children is seeing the world through their lenses, their curiosity, creativity, and excitement for movement. I am also a snowboard coach and a personal trainer, and these experiences allow me to help kids build confidence, coordination, and a lifelong enjoyment of being active. BougeUp was created to combine my passion for education and sport, and to provide a space where kids with different levels can explore different physical activities.
My name is Sheena Kirichu and I am the Operational Director of BougeUp Summer Camp. I have been an athlete for the last 13 years with experience playing various sports at a recreational and competitive level such as soccer, basketball, futsal, swimming, tennis and more! Due to my experiences being a swimming instructor’s aid, teaching tennis to neurodivergent children, as well as my ongoing education in the McGill Physical and Health Education Program, I value the importance of health and fitness, especially amongst the youth. I am looking forward to guiding our campers in building confidence, competence and positive attitudes toward physical activity!
My name is Isaac Marceau and I play football for McGill University. I have been playing competitive football for about 14 years, which has given me strong experience in the sport and in team environments.
As a Sport Advisor for BougeUp Summer Camp, I support the team in curriculum design and sport pedagogy, helping review activity plans to ensure they are engaging and developmentally appropriate for young athletes.
I enjoy helping young athletes discover sports, build confidence, and develop a love for movement and teamwork.
